The largest share of methanol is used to derive formaldehyde, which is processed further to form resins, acetic acid, glues, and a number of plastics, such as fibers and PET plastics.
Methanol is also used as cooking fuel and for thermal applications.
Furthermore, methanol is used as fuel (additive) for conventional vehicles, as well as for race vehicles, model flying, and RC.
